More Features

Millisecond Resolution & Infinite Scaling

Millisecond resolution for precise data logging. Iff you’re using InfluxDb, you can even have microsecond resolution.

Infinite scaling, both vertically and horizontally.

Legacy Data Source Support

You can collect your data from legacy industrial data sources using DeviceGateway from our technology partner Takebishi.

With an added server like our ogamma Modbus OPC UA Server (add link), it’s possible to collect data from any legacy device that supports the Modbus protocol.

You can also use a third-party OPC DA to OPC UA wrapper.

Data Storage in Traditional & Time-Series Databases

You can store your data in:

  • Traditional relational databases (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, and SQLite)
  • Modern time-series databases (InfluxDB, Timescale DB, and Apache Kafka),
  • or MQTT Brokers (like Eclipse Mosquitto, Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Broker, and Google Cloud IoT Core MQTT Bridge).

Data Visualization & Queries

  • Easily visualize data by using the powerful open-source tool Grafana.
  • Easily access and analyze key industrial data using queries, when supported by your destination database.

Secure Connection & Authorization

Keep your data secure and free from data leaks with our security features, including:

  • Web-based configuration GUI secured with robust user authentication and authorization.
  • Secured OPC UA communication modes and username/ password authentication.

Unlimited Data Storage & Tags

Store your data with us for an unlimited time.

With our Enterprise Edition, you also get an unlimited number of tags!

Our Mini Case Study

A beverage bottling and palletizing company used our ogamma Visual Logger for OPC software to visualize real-time data through Grafana.

The Problem:

This confidential factory uses different PLCs but can’t access their data from Grafana. Grafana has a rich set of features to visualize data in dashboards with different widgets. This includes history trend graphs, gauges, and tables that can be read from various data sources.

But here’s the catch, it doesn’t include a ready-to-use data source plugin that connects to industrial control data sources like PLCs. Thankfully, OVL has these features.

The Solution:

ogamma Visual Logger for OPC is designed to solve this problem by connecting to OPC UA Servers while storing data in time-series databases like Influx DB.

The beverage company uses Influx DB to collect its industrial data. Then, Grafana reads historical data using existing data source plugins. Our product ogamma also acts as a REST backend for the plugin SimpleJson.

A huge benefit of our software is that it reads historical data directly from OPC UA Servers, without storing real-time data in a time-series database.

Testimonial

“ogamma Visual Logger for OPC helps us obtain industrial data and present it in Grafana. It has 2 features: you can historize time-series data from OPC UA Servers in InfluxDB, or present the data without historizing.

We have been connecting with ogamma directly to the PLC without using third-party software (like OPC servers). Usually, Grafana is used in IT to monitor server statuses, but the ogamma transforms it to OT. Now, we can link IT with OT. We have been using ogamma for months without any issues, and the program’s stability is great!”
